Webtool RCV135 – Wire Rope Cutter

The RCV models are designed for sub-sea service and for use in severe working conditions such as offshore; the cutters have been manufactured to meet customers requirements in stainless steel or lightweight aluminium and for ROV applications.

The RCV range of cutters feature hydraulically powered anvil pins for remote actuation. This enables the ROV operator to capture and sever the cable or wire rope via the manipulator arm.

By closing the anvil pin the rope is held in place. A hardened steel guillotine blade is then hydraulically driven through the rope. The blade is returned and the anvil pin retracted ready for the next cut.

  • Capable of cutting IPS (1770 N/mm²) wire rope up to 135mm (5.3″) diameter. See “Cutters VS Grade” document for more details.
  • Hydraulic Supply – 690 bar (10,000 psi) input pressure for blade. 210 bar (3000 psi) for anvil.
  • Compatible with ISO32 hydraulic oil, for details of compatibility with other fluids please contact us.
  • Cutters can be supplied flushed to NAS 6 cleanliness (contact us for details).
  • Swept Volume (Cut Stroke) – 3 litres.
  • Swept Volume (Return Stroke) – 1.1 litres.
  • 7/16″ JIC male adaptors (stainless steel, 690 bar rated) fitted as standard.
  • 4 hydraulic ports (blade up, blade down, anvil open, anvil closed).
  • Weight in air – 176kg.
  • Weight in water – 152kg.
